It seems that everywhere you look, there's articles about forming teams and the benefits of the team concept in real estate.
I find that a little strange, since apparently, Brokers are afraid that teams are doing a better job at marketing. There's a new law in Florida that states that a team or individual agent logo can't be any larger than the Broker's logo.
If you're just getting started in the real estate business, the best advice I can give you is to NOT pay attention to the likes of Inman News or RIS Media. Many of you come out of a corporate job or environment, and you probably didn't come to this industry to get bogged down in forming and managing a team. They aren't needed, especially if you're comfortable with technology.
My point is that Brokers and the real estate news industries are conflicted, and not looking at the big picture. Fostering groups that can grow large enough to compete directly with a Broker, and giving our listings away free to Zillow, so they can charge Realtors for what should be their own leads, aren't examples of forward thinking business practices.
Get to work.
