Selecting a real estate domain name
Now that you're ready to start a new real estate website, as a new agent or an experienced agent looking to move ahead, you will need to select a domain name.
A domain name is your real estate website's URL. I have three: www.davidbarrhomes.com, sarasotadavid.com, and lakewoodranchdavid.com. Selecting an effective domain name is one of the most important decisions you can make in the success of your online marketing.
There are a couple of things to consider when selecting a domain name:
If you are a new agent or new to an area, you should select a domain name that contains the geographic area you will be serving, since most real estate searches are location based;
If you are an established agent, who past customers or prospective buyers may be searching for by name, you should use a domain containing your name. I've had people tell me "oh, you're davidbarrhomes".

When selecting a domain, GoDaddy has the best prices and it's fairly easy to use. I prefer using Wix for domain names, because it's a bit easier to connect your domain name to your website.
